Registration for the Fall 2013 recreational season is now open!

Registration for Fall 2103 runs from April 1st to June 1st.  Registrations postmarked after June 1st must include a $25 late fee to be processed — no exceptions.

Please note due to the large number of registrations received, we are not able to provide email confirmations of registrations received.                                                                Please allow 6-8 weeks for check processing.

Please visit our FAQ’s page and our homepage for more information regarding our recreational program and Fall 2013 timeline.  Expect to hear from your coach in mid-August. Season runs from mid-August to mid-November.  Games run September to November on Saturdays. Practice locations are in Soquel, Capitola and Live Oak — and at the discretion of the coach.  Teams may practice one or two times a week.

Our recreational soccer program is coached entirely by volunteers — most often parents — and cannot run without you!  Teams cannot form without a committed coach.  Please consider volunteering to coach your child’s team.  Mid County Soccer provides multiple avenues of support for new and returning coaches.

The Mid-County Surf U13 Boys Comp Team is seeking additional players. They have a strong core returning to try out again, and this year they’ll be coached by Al Adamsen. Al is a former professional athlete, college football coach, and experienced youth coach. He’s also a long standing trainer with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA).

A note from Al: “My coaching philosophy to create a safe, fun, focused environment where kids can learn about competition, soccer, team dynamics, and themselves. This entails how to carry a relentlessly positive attitude, an uncommon level of focus, and an intelligent allocation of effort. It also involves mastering the core individual skills (ball control, passing, dribbling, shooting, etc.) and game skills (spacing, speed, and scoring mindset). Our tryouts this weekend will be on Soquel High School’s athletic field. Saturday’s tryout will run from 2:20 to 3:40pm and Sunday’s will run from 1:00 to 2:20pm. Should your son wish to participate in the tryout and compete for a position on this year’s U13 Surf Team, please have him there early. Know he’ll have some fun and he may even learn a few things. Hoping to see him there, and hoping to meet you, the parents, as well. To makin’ great things happen!”

The dates have been set for the 2013 Comp season and try-outs will be held on March 17th and 23rd.  Please see attached pdf for specific times and locations.
